Pokémon Pathways is a Pokémon fan-game in which each of your decisions influences the story in one way or another. In Pokémon Pathways a system of very innovative mechanics has been created, which turn the game into a quite different experience. For example, the protagonist of the game has some stats (intelligence, strength, charm and skill) that can be improved by performing actions in the game.

In Pokémon Pathways our character has limited energy, which is used up when certain actions are performed. Once the character’s energy runs out, it is necessary to sleep to move to the next day and recover energy and, therefore, the ability to perform actions. This new system even affects the saving system, as you can only save while sleeping, or in a Pokémon Center.

The story of this Fan-Game is totally new, as it introduces us in an academy where we will have to perform certain tasks and attend class during the week. This is mandatory (in part), because if we miss too much we could be expelled from the academy and therefore lose the game. Everything in this game (or almost everything) affects, even the smallest details, since our reputation can even change the possible dialogues that certain characters would have with us.

One of the details that you should take into account if you decide to play Pokémon Pathways are the special skills you can learn, a maximum of 2 out of 13 possibilities. These skills are learned by winning club activities in the academy, and there are some very powerful ones, so you should choose well if you want to benefit the most. Also keep in mind that if you take care of your relationships with the different NPCs in the game, you can get things from them and make your game easier.
